Qingluo Beach

Attractions
Qingluo Beach, located on the north coast of Huxi Township in Penghu, is also one of Penghu's important ecological areas. This coral-fragment beach stretches hundreds of meters, with finer shell sand found further down the shoreline. The coastal wetlands here attract migratory birds that either pass through or settle temporarily. The beach is also a breeding ground for the protected little tern, making it an important site for both natural and cultural ecology. Qingluo Beach is a vast and tranquil area, adorned with coral reefs and basalt formations. With few visitors, it remains a peaceful retreat. Visitors can appreciate the beauty of Qingluo Beach, wade in its cool waters, and enjoy the scenic surroundings. To the west, the Jhongtun Windmill adds a charming touch, while to the northeast, the Donghai Islands stretch across the horizon. As the sun sets, the interplay between the sea and windmills creates an even more captivating view. A sprawling intertidal zone lies in front of Qingluo Beach. During low tide, visitors can collect seashells and snails while admiring the intertidal ecosystem. The Qingluo coastline is a diverse wetland, featuring rocky shores, pebbled beaches, sandy shores, and muddy coastal areas. It also includes mangroves, tidal pools, sandbanks, and fish ponds, serving as a microcosm of Penghu's varied wetland landscapes. Recommended Duration of Visit: 30 minutes
