The Penghu Living Museum is a newly established museum that showcases "Penghu life, culture, local history and ecology." It is designed to interpret the history and cultural development of Penghu through the lens of local residents' lifestyles, emotions and identity. The museum aims to serve as a professional county-level museum and has become the core institution for the development of Penghu's museum sector. The Penghu Living Museum is also a museum that reflects the neighborhood, community, ecology and everyday life, offering a space that is both approachable and full of warmth and human touch—truly a shared resource for the local community. It is a museum with a unique Penghu flavor and cultural character.
Officially opened in 2010, it is Taiwan's first urban museum. The museum showcases a variety of exhibits, including historical artifacts, documents, images, ecological displays, miniature models and immersive multimedia presentations, making the content feel more relatable and life-like. The Penghu Living Museum, located in Magong City, offers visitors an in-depth understanding of Penghu's local life through its three-dimensional exhibits. It is an educational and worthwhile tourist and leisure destination.
