Lintou Monument to the Landing of Japanese Troops

The Lintou Monument to the Landing of Japanese Troops was erected by the Japanese Navy to commemorate their landing at Lintou during the 1895 military campaign. The original inscription read: "Meiji 28th Year Naval Joint Landing Force Monument."
Standing over 10 meters tall, the monument has an octagonal baseand is constructed from granite, with its surrounding walls built with stones from Magong. The structure is divided into three sections 
and occupies an area of approximately 400 square meters. The monument was established on November 21, 1936, during the 11th year of the Shōwa era under Japanese rule.
After Japan's defeat in WWII (1945), the Nationalist Government took control and renamed the monument to "Victory in the War of Resistance Monument(抗戰勝利紀念碑)."
