Wai'an Sanxian Tower
Attractions
Wai'an Sanxian Tower, also known as Xipuding Sanxian Tower, is perched on a hilltop southwest of Wenwang Temple in Wai'an Village. Overlooking the entire village, it consists of three stone towers standing on the edge of a cliff, serving as protective structures. Wai'an Village is flanked by hills on both sides, with mountains encircling the settlement from behind. The terrain slopes from north to south. In ancient times, using their wisdom, villagers built these three stone towers at the western hilltop, the closest point to the sea. The stone towers are aligned in a north-south direction, placed side by side, symbolizing how the mountains extend toward the ocean. Each Sanxian Tower features a square stone base with a conical stone spire, measuring approximately 2 meters in height and 1 meter in diameter. These towers function similarly to Shigandang (Ishiganto Stones) in warding off negative energy. The central tower is adorned with a basalt inscription.
