Chengqian Beach

Attractions
Located in Chengqian Village, Baisha Township, on the North Circuit of the island, this peaceful Chengqian Beach faces the inner sea of Penghu. The beach is relatively low-lying, crescent-shaped, and protected from the northeast monsoon. It is one of the few beaches in Penghu that remains unaffected during winter and experiences minimal human impact. The area boasts a natural coastline and rich intertidal ecosystem. From here, you can see Magong City, the Jhongtun Windmill, Xiyu, and Dacang Island.
The beach here has a shell-sand texture, which feels very comfortable to walk on. The area features a gentle sloping beach and intertidal zone. During low tide, a large expanse of the intertidal zone is exposed, making it an ideal spot for intertidal activities. Nearby is Chengqian Fishing Harbor, which is small but scenic. You can see small fishing boats and oyster rafts docked by the harbor. Looking out to sea, you'll see extensive oyster racks. During low tide, local fishermen can be seen heading to the racks with their full gear to maintain them. The oysters from Chengqian and Jiangmei are famous for being delicious. In a quiet corner of Chengqian Beach, there is a hook-shaped sandbar surrounded by the expansive intertidal zone. The striking difference in tidal range here makes Chengqian Beach a unique location, offering a serene coastal experience where you can walk on the sand and explore the intertidal area.
