Yuanbeiyu

Attractions
The entirety of Yuanbeiyu is hilly terrain. Its shape resembles a shell covering the water's surface, which is how it got its name. On Yuanbeiyu, visitors can ride bicycles or stroll through the island to appreciate the local scenery. If you walk into the village's narrow paths, you will see "stone wall gardens," which are built by the locals from coral limestone to protect crops from strong winds, ensuring their growth.
On the northern coast of Yuanbeiyu Island, the columnar basalt and columnar basalt formations along the northeast cliffs are well-developed, with shapes that have been greatly altered by the erosion of sea waves. You can see many folds and variations, including columnar, inclined, and other diverse forms of basalt. These formations have become famous geological landmarks, featuring distinctive shapes such as stone pens, inkstones, unreadable scriptures, graphite, and pleated skirts—must-see attractions when visiting Yuanbeiyu.
