Pengpeng Beach (Huolong Beach)

Attractions
Pengpeng Beach, located in Baisha Township, Penghu, is as charming as its name suggests. Though the beach itself is relatively small—taking only about ten minutes to walk across—it is still growing as a newly formed sandbank.
The beach boasts of dazzling white sand that glistens under the sun, contrasting beautifully with the deep blue waters. Unique among beaches, Pengpeng Beach stretches sinuously in the middle of the sea rather than forming a typical shoreline. From an aerial view, it resembles a giant white dragon swimming through the ocean, earning it the nickname "Huolong Beach" ( Dragon Beach).

Pengpeng Beach is actually an uninhabited island, and transportation options to get there are quite limited. Visitors must take a boat from the Beihai Tourist Service Center, with the journey taking approximately 30 to 40 minutes.During the boat ride to Pengpeng Beach, travelers can enjoy breathtaking ocean views, listen to the rhythmic sound of the waves, and experience the exhilaration of sailing through the sea breeze. The journey itself is a rewarding experience well worth the trip. The sand on Pengpeng Beach is similar to that of other beaches in the Penghu archipelago, primarily composed of coral fragments. Additionally, the waters around Pengpeng Beach are home to numerous seagulls and various bird species, making it a paradise for birdwatchers. One of the most unique aspects of Pengpeng Beach is that there is currently no pier. As a result, when boats arrive, visitors must disembark directly onto the shore, creating an exciting "beach-landing" experience—a rare and thrilling adventure!
Recommended Duration of Visit: 30 minutes, mostly as part of a sightseeing cruise
