Xijiyu

Attractions
Xijiyu, also known as Xiji Island, is part of the Penghu archipelago in Taiwan. It holds a strategic position along the Taiwan-Penghu shipping route and was once administratively part of Xiji Village, Wang'an Township, Penghu County, though the village has since been abandoned. Today, Xijiyu is included in the South Penghu Marine National Park, alongside Dongjiyu, Dongyuping Island, and Siyuping Island. It is located approximately 4.5 kilometers from Dongjiyu. Due to its remote location and poor transportation access, the island's livelihood opportunities were scarce, leading to a drastic population decline. As a result, in July 1, 1978, the government assisted in relocating the remaining residents to more accessible areas.
