Baikeng Beach
Attractions
Baikeng Village is best known for its thinleaf sunflower, a crop harvested three to four times a year, making it Penghu's top producer. Aloe vera is also cultivated here. In Baikeng Village, located in Huxi Township, there is a beach situated to the northeast of Huxi. Composed of coral fragments, this beach remains relatively unknown, giving it an especially peaceful and mysterious atmosphere. On clear days with good visibility, you can faintly see the Donghai Islands from the beach. To the right, you'll find Kuibishan, and to the east, Qingluo. Near the breakwater, the shore is lined with bayhops, whose vibrant green leaves and delicate flowers create a beautiful contrast against the white sand. Under the sunlight, this serene landscape becomes even more picturesque.
Historically, Baikeng Village was a hub for lime kiln industries, as its beach was rich in coral fragments and seashells, key raw materials for lime production. However, with the rise of the cement industry, lime sales plummeted, and the kilns gradually fell into decline due to environmental concerns and changing times. This shift allowed Baikeng Beach to retain its untouched natural beauty.
