Aimen Beach (including Lintou Beach)
Aimen Beach boasts the longest golden sand shoreline in Penghu, composed of coral, shell fragments, foraminifera remains, and other marine debris. Among them, the star-shaped foraminifera are particularly striking. Against the backdrop of clear blue skies and white coral sands, the beach stretches along southern Huxi Township like a dazzling white ribbon, creating a magnificent sight.
In the past, Aimen Beach suffered from illegal sand mining and strong winter winds, which stripped away much of the sand, exposing bare rocks. However, thanks to efforts by former village head Li Tienyu and dedicated community members, protective sand barriers were installed, gradually restoring the beach to its former glory. Today, Aimen Beach has become one of Penghu's most beloved "Love Beaches." The calm waters make it an ideal spot for wading and swimming. There is also a wooden pavilion that provides shade from the sun and shelter from rain, along with rinsing facilities for visitors.
Aimen Beach is connected to Lintou Beach, forming a stunning coastline that stretches for several kilometers. Inspired by elements of sand, seashells, love, waves, and music, the Shell Church was built on Lintou Beach. This elegant, all-white seashell-shaped structure resembles a trumpet of love, with flowing curved lines symbolizing musical rhythms—as if wedding melodies were playing in a church . The heart-shaped cutout on the roof, arranged in a four-leaf clover pattern, casts different sunlight reflections throughout the day, enhancing the romantic atmosphere. This makes the Shell Church a must-visit attraction in Penghu.
●Be cautious of strong northeast monsoon winds, which can create high waves—avoid entering the water in rough conditions.
●Always swim with a companion and stay aware of your distance from the shore.
