Lintou Park

Attractions
Nestled in Lintou Village, Huxi Township, Penghu, Lintou Park is a lush green haven and one of the county's earliest green spaces.Since 1946, the Penghu County Government has actively promoted afforestation in the area, planting nearly 90,000 casuarina trees. The park was officially established in 1957.
At the end of the entrance path, on the right, stands the Military Memorial Hall, originally named the "Taiwan Province Penghu Military Cemetery(台灣省澎湖軍人公墓)."Renovated and completed in 1989,the hall houses a monument inscribed with the words "The Heroic Spirit Endures(浩氣長存)," written by the then Minister of National Defense, Yu Tawei, in 1958. This tribute honors the generals who sacrificed their lives during the Second Taiwan Strait Crisis (the 823 Artillery Battle). The memorial commemorates generals Chi Hsingwen, Chao Chiahsiang and Chang Chieh, among others.

Lintou Park offers visitors a tranquil escape with its shaded walking paths, perfect for a leisurely stroll. For those seeking rest, there are charming leisure seating areas, including natural stone chairs, where visitors can relax and enjoy the serene surroundings. The park is a vibrant display of nature, with expansive lawns, flourishing trees, and a colorful array of flowers. The cool, refreshing atmosphere makes it an ideal spot for both hiking and relaxation. Within the park, you'll find the memorial monument dedicated to the victims of the China Airlines Flight 611 crash. On May 25, 2002, the flight, traveling from Taipei to Hong Kong, tragically crashed into the sea near Mudou Island, Penghu. This monument honors the lives lost in the disaster, including both passengers and crew.
