Nei'an Recreation Area
Attractions
Houwan is a coastal inlet located southwest of Nai'an Village and north of Wai'an Village. Stretching from Kuzibian to Biwei, the bay gets its name from its position behind (north of) Nai'an Village. In addition to its striking basalt rock formations, the shoreline features a vast, white-sand beach with fine, soft sand and a flat landscape. This scenic spot is a favorite among locals for water activities and exploring the intertidal zone. The beach is also commonly known as White Sand Beach. Tucked beneath a steep cliff along the roadside, the Nei'an Recreation Area is an easily overlooked yet breathtaking destination. A wooden boardwalk has been built behind the beach, following the natural contours of the land. The 500-meter-long pathway offers a perfect vantage point for admiring the sea and listening to the waves. From the boardwalk and pavilion, visitors can gaze northward toward Houziwei Cape in Chixi. With its soft, pristine sand and crystal-clear waters, the Nei'an Recreation Area boasts of ever-changing, mesmerizing landscapes. The endless ocean, azure sky, and expansive white sand beach create a scene that captivates visitors. The beach size fluctuates with the tides and during low tide, it seems to stretch infinitely into the sea. The shallow, flat terrain makes it an ideal spot for wading and observing marine life—well worth exploring.
