On the east side of the famous Shanshui Beach lies Shanshui Fishing Port, next to the Shanshui Stargazing Park, which was completed in 2008. The park features a pavilion, stargazing signposts, and walking paths.
Shanshui Fishing Port is located on the southern coast of Penghu, classified as a Type III fishing port. It primarily serves the local fishermen, providing space for fishing boats, rafts, fish unloading, and rest. The port faces the expansive Pongnan Sea and the local community relies on the sea for their livelihood, using methods such as drift gillnets, trawling and longline fishing. On the west side of Shanshui Fishing Port, there is a stretch of Shanshui Beach about one kilometer long, with golden shell sand that contrasts beautifully with the blue sea. The beach features fine, continuous white sand and a gentle slope, making it ideal for water activities and surfing. It seamlessly connects with nearby natural attractions, creating a perfect route for sightseeing and relaxation.
