In the past, the ancestors of Penghu relied on stone weirs (石滬) for their livelihood, treating them as family assets to be managed. However, as the environment and culture have gradually disappeared, the traditional meaning of the stone weirs is no longer the same. As descendants of the island, we have discovered the close relationship between the stone weirs and the people. Even I, as a child, was nourished by the stone weirs. Therefore, we hope to revive the stone weirs, which have lost their fishing function and rebuild their value in modern times, moving towards the transformation of sustainable industries.
