The Longmen Military Outpost is divided into two sections. The outer area features landscaped park facilities, including market stalls, public restrooms, a visitor service center, and a parking lot. The inner area is home to the Lizhengjiao Defensive Stronghold, which has significant historical military value. During the later years of Japanese rule, defensive works were established in the area. In 1961, under President Chiang Chungcheng's orders, the Army's 1357th unit constructed the Lizhengjiao Defensive Stronghold, which included two anti-aircraft gun bunkers, seven machine gun bunkers, an observation post, two personnel shelters, an ammunition shelter, and a water reservoir. These structures were connected by a 705-meter-long underground tunnel. Subsequent additions included two machine gun walls and a kitchen. The original observation post was expanded backward around 1989 and a radar station was built on top in 1991. This outpost stands as a testament to Penghu's military defense history. Visitors can immerse themselves in the unique atmosphere of this defensive site and experience its historical significance firsthand.
Opening Hours: April to September: Closed on Wednesdays; October to March: Closed on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The outpost remains open during public holidays.
