Yanqing Island

Attractions
Yanqing Island is located in the sea to the east of Zhongzheng Bridge toward Baisha Township. It has an area of 0.0069 square kilometers, a coastline of 0.331 kilometers, and an elevation of 14 meters. The island is primarily composed of basalt formations, with some red volcanic breccia and reddish soil layers found on its northern and southern sides. These reddish layers are mainly the result of marine erosion and oxidation. A former military bunker still remains on the island, and it was once garrisoned by the Nationalist Army during the 1960s.
During low tide, Yanqing Island becomes a tombolo, allowing visitors to wade to the island from beneath Zhongzheng Bridge. The island's scenery changes with the ebb and flow of the tides. Please be mindful of rapidly changing tides to avoid getting stranded.
