Nianli Bay

Attractions
Nianli Bay is a natural crescent-shaped bay that once served as a nearshore fishing harbor for early Qimei residents. Today, only a small section of the original port, known as Nianli Harbor, remains on the southern side. Following the coastal road past the radar station, visitors will arrive at a curved slope offering a panoramic view of the bay's crescent form. The surrounding coastline is rich in basalt formations, creating a dramatic and ever-changing seascape marked by sea-eroded cliffs and rock formations.
The bay's geology consists mainly of dark basalt, while the beach is composed of white coral fragments, forming a striking contrast between volcanic rock and pristine white sand.
As Qimei's only designated swimming area, Nianli Bay boasts of exceptionally clear waters and a thriving marine ecosystem, thanks to the island's lack of industrial pollution. The shallow waters make it a relatively safe spot for visitors and many take advantage of professionally guided snorkeling tours to explore the underwater world. Snorkelers can witness schools of tropical fish weaving through dense coral reefs—an experience not to be missed here.
