Jibei Island Map
Jibeiyu (or Jibet Islet) is located about 5.5 km north of Baisha Island, making it the largest island in the southern Penghu area. It is also a popular destination for water activities in the summer. The island features an east-high, west-low terrain, with sand beaches and sand spits formed by coastal erosion, creating its most famous natural landscape.
Jibei Sand Tail is formed by the constant erosion of the coastline due to sea currents, waves, and tides, which carry eroded rocks and gravel to specific areas. These materials accumulate and extend outward, creating a sandy beach over a thousand meters long, with golden sand. The beach lies next to the clear blue coast and is surrounded by green coastal plants, offering a breathtaking view. From above, the sea transitions from light blue to deep blue, stretching across the horizon, beautifully complemented by the endless golden beach. This stunning scenery attracts many visitors who enjoy water activities.
Jibeiyu is also known as the hometown of stone weirs, with over eighty stone weirs scattered around the island, making up one-seventh of the total number in Penghu County. There is a Jibei Stone Weir Cultural Museum located next to the tourist service center, with an outdoor art area and an indoor exhibition space. The center showcases the stone weir culture of Jibeiyu in various forms. If you visit Jibeiyu, make sure to stop by and explore, adding more richness to your trip.
