Star of Gaillardia Island (Fisherman's Wharf)

Attractions
Fisherman's Wharf was originally Magong's No. 2 Fish Harbor, a place once used by fishing boats and ice factories. The area was filled with oil stains and the smell of fish, with fishing equipment and pumps scattered carelessly. Later, under the county government's comprehensive planning and renovation, it was transformed into a waterfront redevelopment zone with strong ties to Penghu's industrial characteristics and it has now become a popular spot for both local residents to stroll and tourists visiting Penghu. Fisherman's Wharf is divided into two main areas: one is the shopping and artist exhibition area centered around the "Star of Gaillardia Island" and the other is the leisure area featuring colorful painted barrels. The wharf is equipped with wooden boardwalks and wooden tables and chairs for relaxing by the harbor.
The "Star of Gaillardia Island" is a large cruise-ship-style building constructed of reinforced concrete. The three-story structure was built by the Penghu Fishermen's Association at a cost of NT$120 million. The interior houses a direct sales center for fish products. The first floor offers fish products, dried goods, local souvenirs, and handmade crafts. The second floor features a seafood restaurant, while the third floor has shipboard facilities for photo-taking and tours.
The harbor area has undergone redevelopment and transformation, balancing fishery production with tourism and leisure. It has become a waterfront redevelopment zone, where visitors can enjoy a leisurely walk along the wooden boardwalk by the water, enhanced by nighttime lighting designs, showcasing different charm from day to night.
