The Penghu Recreation Area spans 140 hectares across Juyuan Ecology Campus, Dongwei Forest and Tianren Lake in Magong City, Penghu County. The park is divided into northern and southern sections by County Highway 204, stretching north to Dongwei Forest and south to Xingren Reservoir. It encompasses a variety of natural and ecological sites, including Juyuan Ecology Campus, Lotus Pond and Water Conservation Outdoor Classroom, Tianren Lake and Shuanglong Pond, Twin-Lakes Park and Caiyuan Wetland, Caiyuan Nursery and Banyan Garden Boardwalk. The park also features a dedicated family-friendly lawn activity area and public restroom facilities, providing visitors with well-equipped recreational spaces and essential amenities. Thoughtfully designed with a comprehensive and thematic approach, the park has been developed into a multifunctional space that integrates ecological conservation, tourism, and leisure. Lush greenery and an abundance of trees fill the park, where cherry blossoms, cacti and lemon trees have also been planted. It is currently divided into five distinct zones: the forest conservation area, the water source conservation area, the soil and water conservation outdoor classroom, the vegetable garden nursery and the flower sea scenic area.
In recent years, the Agriculture and Fisheries Bureau of Penghu County has introduced a vibrant seasonal flower display in the park, featuring fields of cosmos and lavender in full bloom each spring. This colorful floral spectacle invites visitors to take a scenic flower tour, complemented by the picturesque landscapes of Dongwei Forest Trail, Tianren Lake and Banyan Garden. The breathtaking lakeside scenery and the burst of spring colors bring a fresh and lively atmosphere to Penghu.
The rich natural gorgeous landscapes in the Penghu Recreation Area have turned the area into an ideal venue for leisure and morning and evening exercise for local citizens and a wonderful choice for picnics to visitors.
