Festival Date: 3rd day of the 3rd lunar month
One of the three major temples in Magong, Penghu, Magong Dongjia Beiji Temple was founded in the early Qing Dynasty. The main deity worshipped is Zhenwu Great Emperor. After the recovery of Taiwan, Lord Wen from the Court of Judicial Review was also enshrined as a secondary deity. Cundi Maha Boddhisattva is also worshipped on the right side of the temple altar for the devout to venerate. Magong Dongjia Beiji Temple is rich in traditional temple architecture. The intricate and vivid artwork, such as the painted beams, calligraphy on the golden pillars and carvings of characters, animals and traditional architectural details like the dougong, curved beams and bird eaves, are all invaluable treasures. The county government has officially listed it as a historical building.
