2025 Golden Twin Islands Art Festival

  • 🎨 2025 Golden Twin Islands Art Festival – Official Event Information

The Golden Twin Islands Art Festival continues the island-hopping cultural travel experience that previously featured Hujing Islet and Tongpan Islet, aligning with the current popularity of free independent travel among contemporary tourists. Inspired by Japan’s Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale, held every three years in Niigata Prefecture to revitalize rural communities and foster “aesthetic reflection,” this festival aims to achieve similar cultural and community impact.

This year’s preliminary plan includes outdoor sketching, land art, and the installation of 11 large inflatable cat figures across major sightseeing spots in Hujing. Through the multiplicative effect of public photography and social media sharing, the event aims to promote Penghu's offshore marine culture to a broader audience.

Located just 20 minutes by boat from the Nanhai Visitor Center in Magong City, Hujing is easily accessible. With privately organized travel itineraries and increased promotional efforts, the event hopes to further develop ocean-themed cultural and creative merchandise related to Hujing and Tongpan. Additionally, the festival aspires to expand its scope in the future to include a broader variety of artistic performances and cultural exhibitions, thus stimulating local community vitality.
