Jibei Triple-Hearts Stone Weir (Neiwuzai Stone Weir / Neikezai Stone Weir)

Attractions
The Neiwuzai Stone Weir in Jibei Village was originally a curved weir. In 2016, the Penghu National Scenic Area Headquarters received consent from the weir owner and hired master Ko Chinto from Jibei Village to transform it into a multi-chamber stone weir with three connected chambers. The Neiwuzai Stone Weir maintains an intact structure and includes a shore-based formation within the weir. It is the only stone weir in Penghu with three interconnected hearts and is one of the three remaining triple-heart stone weirs in the area. The other two are located in Watong Village: the Banfei Weir and the Shuanggangzi Weir. The Neiwuzai Stone Weir is also the only weir in Jibei Village that holds a continuous fishery license.

The pronunciations of "Wu" (烏) and "Ke" (蚵) in the Penghu dialect are similar, making it difficult to determine the correct name. After interviewing local elders and reviewing historical documents, two theories have emerged. One theory supports the name "Wuzi (烏仔) Weir" because the weir was built in a tidal area with concave formations, where small fish (called Wuzi) often get trapped. The other theory suggests "Kezi (蚵仔) Weir," as the weir was built over an area abundant with stone oysters.

Additionally, because there was another stone weir on the outer side, the inner one was named "Neiwuzai Stone Weir," while the outer one was called "Waiwuzai Stone Weir." The outer weir was later dismantled during the port construction.
