Zhang Yu-Sheng Museum
Attractions
The Zhang Yu-Sheng Museum is located in the childhood home of the renowned singer Zhang Yusheng, within Duxing 10th Village, a former military dependents' village. Due to the small size of the original space, the county government expanded the museum by incorporating neighboring buildings No. 20, 18 and 16, transforming them into a comprehensive exhibition space. Inside the museum, visitors will find old furniture and various artifacts related to Zhang Yusheng, including photos, creative works, letters, trophies, stories and videos. Most of these items were donated by his friends, family and fans, making them particularly valuable.
The museum's exhibitions are divided into four main areas: Zhang Yusheng's childhood life, school days and growth, entry into the music industry and media coverage. These sections provide insight into his life in Penghu, his education and the early years he spent living in Duxing 10th Village. Born in Penghu, Zhang Yusheng grew up in the historic Duxing 10th Village in Magong City until he was nine years old, but little was known about his early life until now. The museum stands as a tribute to this talented artist, who composed many beloved songs.
He gained fame with the inspirational song "My Future Is Not a Dream," but tragically passed away in a car accident at the age of 31, leaving behind a legacy of music and many memories for his fans.
