The folk singer Pan Anbang, who rose to fame with the song "Grandma's Penghu Bay," is from the "Golden Dragon Head Military Dependents' Village" (金龍頭眷村), located in Duxing 10th Village, Magong City. He was born in 1954 in Duxing 10th Village, Magong City and grew up under the loving care of his grandmother. As an adult, he moved to Taipei where he met his close friend, Joseph Yeh, who helped him enter the folk music scene. After reminiscing about his hometown, Penghu, and his grandmother, Joseph Yeh transformed these emotions into lyrics and music, creating the iconic song "Grandma's Penghu Bay," which became a major hit.
Pan Anbang's former residence is located at No. 5, Lane 1, Xinfu Village, Magong City. At the entrance of the alley was the home of the late singer Zhang Yusheng. Notably, renowned actor Hu Chin and Chao Shun also hail from Duxing 10th Village. In recognition of Pan Anbang's contributions, the Penghu County Government transformed his childhood home into the Pan An-Bang Memorial Hall. The garden features a more than 90-year-old olive tree, now designated as a precious tree (No. "Magong 17") and is one of the 53 protected trees in the county.
